Welcome to the Shooting for a Cause Event! This event is usually hosted in the spring, but we wanted to change it up and do a winter edition! This event is not a SQ event and is purposed to be more than the general archery tournaments. This event will be themed and is focused around Harry Potter! You are encouraged to join our immersive event by wearing Harry Potter attire, we just ask that athletes do not shoot in said attire to ensure there are no safety concerns related to the loose fitting wizard robes. You do not have to partake in the theme but it is a lot more fun when everyone brings the theme energy!
We will also be scoring this event a couple of ways:
- We will follow normal NASP Scoring protocols for normal awards.
- We are also adding a twist:
- Athletes will be sorted randomly into a house (Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, or Slytherin); they will be notified at the event.
- Their score will be added into house points that we will track seperately to see which house wins in the end!
- Special awards will also be given related to this, so do not miss out on the fun!
About Us
This event was established in 2020 with the focus of allowing athletes the oppertunity to be involved in a community outreach oppertunity while doing the sport that they love. In 2023, our dedicated coaches staff was able to establish the GATOR Schoalrship through Gray Middle School, and focused this event at funding the scholarship program. Even with the focus being changed towards the scholarship, we continue our endeavor to give back to the community and find a seconardy focus at each event. NASP has stood on the saying that Archery is about changing lives one arrow at a time and this event truely allows that oppertunity.
